1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, 2025 Marrakech edition

The 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair returns to celebrate its 6th edition on the African continent, running from the 30th of January to the 2nd of February 2025, in Morocco

This significant event in the international art calendar will offer a rich programme, giving a unique glimpse into African art, through curated exhibitions, events, and partnerships. The week-long fair will take place at La Mamounia Hotel and the multidisciplinary art space DaDa in Marrakech.

Touria El Glaoui, Founding Director of 1-54, remarks: “This year’s fair welcomes an exciting array of exhibitors, including notable newcomers from further afield such as space Un from Tokyo and Hunna Art from Kuwait.”

 

The 2025 edition will present a diverse range of artistic expressions, bringing together 30 exhibitors from 14 countries, including 14 galleries from Africa, 10 of which are based in Morocco. 

 

Newcomers include C+N Gallery CANEPANERI (Milan), Space Un (Tokyo), GALERIE FARAH FAKHRI (Abidjan), Gallery Nosco (Brussels), Hunna Art (Kuwait), Loeve&Co (Paris), Ross-Sutton Gallery (NYC/Stockholm), The African Art Hub (London), Le Violon Bleu Gallery (Tunisia), and Abla Ababou Galerie (Rabat).

 

El Glaoui adds, “With a robust program of Special Projects and collaborations with local and international institutions, 1-54 Marrakech offers an unparalleled opportunity to engage with Morocco’s vibrant cultural landscape and connect with the wider global art community.”
